Classification of hazelnut varieties by using artificial neural network and discriminant analysis

Aim of study: This study was conducted to classify hazelnut (Corylus avellana L.) varieties by using artificial neural network and discriminant analysis.
 Area Samsun Province, Turkey.
 Material methods: The physical, mechanical optical properties 11 were determined for three major axes. parameters included as independent variables, while dependent variables. Models created each the axes varieties.
 Main results: Classification success rates with Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) Discriminant Analysis (DA) found 89.1% 92.7% X axis, Y axis 86.8% 88.7% Z respectively. classification results ANN DA models be very close other. Both can used in Research highlights: obtained identification show feasibility effectiveness proposed models.
